Biological Science Laboratory Technician (Animal)

This position is located in the Office of Research and Development Service at VA Tennessee Valley Health Care System - Nashville VA Medical Center in Nashville, TN. The Biological Science Laboratory Technician (Animal) works in a research program within a laboratory environment, requiring a practical knowledge of the methods and techniques of one or more of the biological sciences to provide practical technical support in a laboratory. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 Physical Requirements: TThe work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as standing for long periods of time, bending over microscopes, manipulating small parts, and lifting moderate to heavy weights. The work also requires fine motor skills and coordination (hand/eye coordination) in the use of laboratory equipment. Some of the work may need to be performed under hoods.
