About the role

Union Square & Co. is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and resourceful Project Manager/Special Projects Editor to join our team for a four-month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Publisher of UNSQ, and in conjunction with key members of Hachette’s Sales team, this Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the creation 5-10 new EANS and 10+ reprints per year, with an emphasis on special markets/specialty products, backlist publishing formats, and exclusive editions. On a day-to-day basis, this Project Manager/Special Projects Editor will oversee operations of a select special sales list, ensuring that content is delivered on time. They will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of quality, be highly responsive to emails, and have an affinity for problem-solving. The Role

• Be the project manager and primary point of contact for overall scheduling, communication, administration, and production for a line of Retailer Exclusive variant projects and products, including select backlist publishing formats and Retailer Exclusive variant covers • Meeting with external stakeholders, Sales, Design, Editorial, and other key in-house departments • Creating a project calendar and managing information flow to keep all team members updated on work progress • Work closely with production and design on branding, packaging, and general design • Support the sales, marketing and metadata teams by helping provide metadata and assets as needed • Perform other related projects or duties as assigned or required

The ideal candidate will possess

• Exceptional attention to detail and superb time management skills • Proven ability to multi-task, set priorities under pressure, and problem solve in a deadline-driven environment; • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively and meet deadlines, take initiative, and problem-solve creatively • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; • Proficiency with Microsoft Office • Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) a plus
