# Software Engineer

### About the role
Connecting Odds is seeking a versatile Software Engineer to join our distributed engineering team. In this role, you will work across our full stack to build and scale high-performance applications. We operate in a fast-paced environment where we value clean code, architectural integrity, and the ability to solve complex technical challenges. As a mid-level engineer, you will have significant ownership over features and contribute directly to the evolution of our platform infrastructure.
### What you'll do
* Design, develop, and maintain robust server-side logic using Java and Node.js.
* Build responsive, user-centric front-end components using React and TypeScript.
* Manage and optimize relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, to ensure data integrity and performance.
* Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate deployments within Kubernetes environments.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
* Participate in code reviews and contribute to internal documentation to maintain high engineering standards.
### What we're looking for
* 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
* Proficiency in Java and the JavaScript ecosystem (Node.js, React, and TypeScript).
* Strong command of SQL and experience working with PostgreSQL.
* Practical experience with DevOps tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
* Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
* Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment across multiple time zones.
* Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
### Nice to have
* Professional experience or interest in Go (Golang).
* Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud-native development.
* Experience with CI/CD pipeline configuration.
